Working with Modular Kits
Recently, I undertook the challenge of creating a modular kit in Unreal Engine 5; I've designed with modular kits before, but not at this scale and precision. To prepare myself I watched several GDC talks and presentations.

I spent roughly eight hours determining the correct scale for a third-person character controller, creating the tiles, fine-tuning pivot points, and creating multiple rooms to test my pieces.

These pieces were themed as a simple dungeon and included
floors, walls, pillars, railings, bridges, doors, stairs, and connecting hallways. As I worked, I slowly expanded my kit where needed.

Designing How Players Think
In March 2024, I had an opportunity to give a presentation for the Student Game Developer Association on the fundamentals of composition and psychology in level design.

This was the first time leading an entire club meeting; it was super exciting (and nerve-racking!), and although there were a couple rough patches, I'm happy I had the opportunity to share my knowledge and practice my presentation skills.
